TRAINING
Beware of "trainers" that really don't know what they are doing.
Gaye Bougie is also an excellent trainer in the Hubert, NC area who offers beginning obedience classes and CGC evaluation at very reasonable prices.
Having moved to New Bern, I had to find new training facilities for my dogs. I was lucky enough to meet a groomer at the Terrific Pets pet store here who directed me to Sound Dog Training in Newport, NC. They offer everything from Basic Puppy, STAR Puppy and CGC to Conformation, Advanced Obedience and Agility and they all have the background to know what they are doing.
This is an excellent article - Developing High Achievers - and although I have always handled my puppies from day one, I am using these specific techniques on my puppies in addition to social and affection handling.
